Tasmanian pepper
Tasmanian pepper - exotic aroma with a fiery note
Tasmanian pepper is a wild-growing spice that delights with its multifaceted flavor profile. At first it develops a sweet aroma, which then changes into a fiery note. Notes of juniper, currants and bay leaves give Tasmanian pepper a very special complexity.
Thanks to this unique aroma, Tasmanian pepper goes perfectly with exotic fruits, cheese and fish dishes. The spicy principle of the spice, the so-called polygodial, is a sesquiterpene compound that is also found in water pepper and paracress. The substance safrole, which can also be found in cinnamon, nutmeg and bay leaves, is also responsible for the pleasant, warm taste of Tasmanian pepper.
