The Kampot Rouge long pepper is a unique specialty from the Cambodian province of Kampot. Here, the red long pepper ("Piper retrofractum") is harvested by hand by farmers when the fruits have reached their full ripeness and intense red color.
This unusual pepper specialty captivates with a seductive aroma of dried red berries, complemented by notes of cardamom and nutmeg. Its taste is initially sweet with a medium, velvety spiciness. Visually, the red, elongated pepper cones are clearly different from classic peppercorns.
The fruity and spicy Kampot Rouge long pepper is a versatile accompaniment to cheese, vegetables, fruit and chocolate. Whether carefully crushed in a mortar or ground in a mill, it develops its full aroma.
For optimal storage, it is packaged in a purple glass jar that protects the essential oils from light and moisture.
